About the role

We are seeking an skilled Specialist Medical Secretary to join our small but busy healthcare practice in Gosford, NSW. This permanent part-time role for 3 days per week will provide vital administrative support to our specialist doctors, ensuring the smooth running of our medical operations. This position is well-suited to someone who is organised, efficient, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a warm, patient-focused approach are essential. Must be able to cover sick and holiday leave.

What you'll be doing

* Provide high-level secretarial support to specialist doctors
* Manage appointments, patient enquiries, and scheduling
* Prepare and manage medical correspondence, reports, and referrals
* Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
* Liaise with hospitals, referrers, and other healthcare providers
* Dictaphone typing
* Assist with billing, Medicare claims, and administrative processes
* Ensure the overall smooth running of the office

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills

* Proficiency in medical terminology and the ability to maintain accurate patient records

* Previous experience in a specialist medical practice (preferred)
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* High attention to detail and accuracy

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* A genuine interest in the healthcare industry and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
* Excellent typing skills
* Ability to cover sick and holiday leave essential
