About the role
The Student Experience Team Leader is responsible for managing a range of programs, activities and services designed to achieve more equitable outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled at UNE. The position will supervise the Oorala Student Experience team and be responsible for ongoing relationships with other UNE student facing service teams and programs.
This position reports to the Manager Student Engagement- Oorala Aboriginal Centre and operates under their general direction.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong combination of tertiary qualifications and substantial experience in Indigenous student support, program administration, and team leadership. You should have a good understanding of the key issues influencing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander from lived and work experience. Confidence in leading and motivating a team is essential. You should be able to confidently interpret and apply enrolment and admissions policies, working collaboratively with colleagues across the institution to support positive outcomes.
About the Department
The Oorala Aboriginal Centre is a teaching and student engagement Centre for online and on campus Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, offering academic advice, tutorial assistance, computer, and resource facilities in a safe environment for relaxation and study.
