Shane's Trees is a forward thinking Arboriculture company. Operating in Sydney and beyond for over 30 years with a safety culture that underpins our reputation for excellence.
Having recently expanded to Newcastle and with works on the northern rail corridor we are bridging the gap between Newcastle and Sydney. Currently scouting for a Cert III Qualified Arborist with strong climbing skills to Lead the HV team. Sites located Hornsby, Thornleigh, Normanhurst areas.
About the role
We want the best of the best. You will be motivated, reliable and willing to embrace new skill sets where required. Your interpersonal and customer relation skills must be of a high standard.
You will be involved in all round general Arborist duties which will include some of or all of the following roles:
* Climbing and aerial work using ropes, harnesses, and elevated work platforms
* Support others on the crew to carry out tree removals, tree pruning and some vegetation removal
* Ground rigging and rope work
* Safe operation of chainsaws, chippers, and other machinery
* Assist with co-ordinating and scheduling duties for the crew
* Ensure all works are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards
* Liaise with rail authorities to keep operations running smoothly
* Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and compliance checks
Essential requirements:
* Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in Arboriculture leading a small team of 2-3 people
* Ability to work across the Northern rail corridor
* Drivers licence (with a clean driving record)
* Can start / finish in the Norwest each day
* RIW ticket (preferred however we will put you through the course)
* ESI ii ticket (preferred however we will put you through the course)
* ACS (preferred however we will put you through the course)
* Commitment to a drug & alcohol-free workplace (you can be tested on-site at anytime)
* White Card
* Hr licence (desirable)
* Customer Service and communication skills
