This is a nine (9) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 2, 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency

The Role

Gladys Newton School is seeking a proactive Teacher of Home Economics to join our dedicated Technologies Learning Area team. The applicant will ideally display excellent interpersonal skills, a strong focus on building positive relationships, and the ability to deliver engaging, relevant, and meaningful learning experiences that inspire students.

The successful applicant should have high expectations of self and students, be able to ensure a productive and positive learning environment and the ability to cultivate and sustain strong relational connections in every classroom.

Ideally the successful applicant would embrace a personal commitment to the values of the school: respect, excellence, knowledge, integrity, and unity. Additionally, teachers should embrace the school's pedagogical framework and the associated program of improving teaching, including peer observation. They should work collaboratively with their peers and within their various teams as part of a professional learning community.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration .
be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website .
apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
