What you'll do
As the Senior Scientist (Transfusion and Quality), you will possess a high level of clinical interpretive skills and works as a resource within the Transfusion discipline, taking a lead role within the department including staff training and education, quality monitoring and improvement and advanced instrumentation troubleshooting.
The position is combined with the Quality Coordinator role which includes supporting adherence to and implementation of quality management procedures within The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) Laboratory Group.
About you
We are searching for someone with:
* Demonstrated ability to apply advanced scientific judgement within the laboratory multidiscipline service and with high level knowledge and skill in the scientific, technical, and quality aspects of Transfusion.
* Demonstrated ability to provide complex advice to laboratory staff and District Health Service clients on a broad range of issues pertaining to the laboratory work unit and/or discipline.
* High level knowledge, expertise and skill in applying the principles of quality management, with a high-level understanding of laboratory quality control, quality assurance programs and NATA / ISO / TGA accreditation / certification requirements.
* Ability to work with a high degree of independence, produce effective work output with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Well-developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills including report preparation, the ability to negotiate, influence others and work collaboratively with people to make decisions.
* Demonstrated ability to cooperate and actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, workplace health and safety and an ethical environment.
