About the Role
The purpose of Student Support Services (SSS) is to assist children and young people facing a range of barriers to learning to achieve their educational and developmental potential through the provision of a range of strategies and specialised support at individual, group, school and area levels.
The successful applicant will be a valuable member of a multidisciplinary team responsible for providing a flexible service across four priority areas: critical incidents, acute issues/complex cases, prevention/capability building and short‑to‑medium term intervention. This work involves a range of formal and informal assessments and interventions, as well as significant collaborative networking opportunities with local service providers.
Collaboration with other SSS team members to provide assessment, consultation, support, and programme advice to improve teaching, learning and wellbeing strategies for students requiring support is a key component of the role. The position requires highly developed communication skills—including report writing, networking, and interpersonal skills—enabling effective liaison with a range of people in the education community and beyond. The role also requires the ability to work autonomously.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Social Worker: A graduate or post‑graduate degree in social work or equivalent; eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
