The Opportunity
Step into a pivotal sales leadership role at NZ Sugar, home of the iconic Chelsea brand and the exclusive New Zealand partner for Wilmar Ingredients and Goodman Fielder Ingredients. This is a unique opportunity to drive growth across multiple high-impact categories - from sugar and bulk ingredients to a specialist portfolio of imported oleochemicals, cosmetic and beauty care ingredients.
As the Account Manager, you'll be the face of our Food, Beverage & Ingredients (FBI) business, representing a trusted portfolio with deep heritage and significant future potential. You'll lead strategic customer relationships, shape category strategy, and influence market direction in a space that touches food, beverage, cosmetic and manufacturing industries across New Zealand.

What you'll do:
Drive growth and commercial performance
* Negotiate and secure profitable sales across sugar, Goodman Fielder ingredients, and the full Wilmar Ingredients portfolio.
* Define and execute strategies to achieve volume, margin and market share targets.
* Lead sugar futures contract negotiations and advise customers on global market dynamics.
Lead the Wilmar Ingredients portfolio in NZ
* Own the growth and market development of oleochemicals, cosmetic and beauty-care ingredients.
* Engage with R&D, formulation, manufacturing and procurement stakeholders to influence specification and product adoption.
Be the trusted expert for your customers
* Analyse and relay market trends, pricing, and technical insights to support customer decision-making.
* Build deep, value-adding relationships so that partnership - not price - drives retention and growth.
Champion customer experience and operational excellence
* Manage supply chain and quality challenges with pace and professionalism.
* Oversee stock, forecasting and containerised ordering for Wilmar Ingredients.
* Identify cost-out and efficiency opportunities that strengthen our customer value proposition.
Collaborate and contribute to a high-performing sales culture
* Work closely with the wider FBI team, Commercial, Logistics and Technical functions to deliver seamless customer solutions.
* Bring customer intelligence, market insights and strategic recommendations to team discussions.
* Represent NZ Sugar and Wilmar at key industry conferences and events
What you'll bring:
* Proven FMCG or B2B commercial experience - you're an experienced account manager or commercial leader with a strong track record of delivering profitable growth in food, beverage, ingredients or technical product categories.
* A self-starter mindset - high energy, highly organised and motivated by autonomy. You thrive in roles where you can shape strategy, deepen customer relationships and drive results across a diverse portfolio.
* Outstanding relationship and communication skills - you build trust quickly, influence at all levels, and are confident negotiating in both one-on-one and group environments.
* Commercial acumen and strong analytical capability – you're comfortable with margin modelling, pricing strategy, forecasting and interpreting market dynamics.
* Technical curiosity and comfort with complexity: Experience in cosmetic, beauty-care or food ingredient sales is a strong advantage. You enjoy selling into both procurement and technical/formulation teams and can translate technical insights into commercial value.
