Position Profile

Position: Stakeholder and Environment Advisor - Peppertree Quarry

Key Purpose:
Broadly describe what the position broadly achieves for the business.

To coordinate the implementation of environmental planning approvals and

environmental management systems for Peppertree Quarry. The position will also

take the lead in relation to engaging with government agencies, the local

community and other relevant stakeholders for day-to-day site matters.

Typical Dimensions: For example; size, span of control, capital managed, budget.

Boral Peppertree Quarry has over 100 staff and embedded contractors with which

this role interacts and provides advice. Peppertree Quarry is designated as State

Significant Developments and operates under a ministerial development consent.

This role acts as the first point of contact for a number of community groups in

Marulan as well as both of the Sites Community Consultative Committees.

The role oversees an environment operating budget as set prior to each financial

year and a capex budget as required for environmental works.

Organisation: Reporting relationships.

Reports to: Senior Environmental Business Partner NSW/ACT

Indirect Reports: Nil

Key Accountabilities: What is the role responsible for delivering in the business.

Leadership & Engagement
- Provide leadership and support to the quarry management teams and

operations to enable compliance with conditions of consent, the

Environment Protection Licence and managing expectations of

stakeholders;
- Accept and carry out such accountabilities as assigned to the position

from time to time by the Senior Environmental Business Partner.

Governance
- Provide regular updates to the quarry management teams on the progress

of continuous improvement, assurance and compliance activities through

the use of the Environmental Permit Planner and compliance reporting.

Strategy
- Assist in and support the delivery of the production strategy for Peppertree

Quarry, as required by the quarry management team.

Systems and Programs
- Coordinate the implementation and review of the HSEQ Management

System for Peppertree Quarry;
- Development of site specific environmental and community policies and

procedures as required;
- Coordinate the implementation of environmental monitoring programs,

including: noise, air quality, surface and groundwater;
- Coordinate the implementation and review of Environmental Management

Plans;
- Coordinate the collection and interpretation of Indigenous and European

heritage information relating to the site, including regular communication

with relevant indigenous and community stakeholders;
- Coordinate the implementation of rehabilitation plans including hydro

mulching, tree planting, weed management and feral animal control;
- Assist in the quality verification of imported material and implementation of

waste management protocols;
- Coordinate the preparation of the Annual Returns, Reviews and

Independent Audits as required by relevant licences and approvals.

Assurance
- Carry out audits of the site Environmental Permit Planner and inspections

of site operations to assess compliance with systems, management plans,

planning approvals and statutory obligations.

Reporting & Analytics
- Provide information as required to meet reporting obligations such as

POEO reporting and Community Consultative Committees;
- Review and update information on the quarry websites.
- Regulator Liaison & Reporting
- Facilitate regulatory reporting requirements;
- Develop effective relationships with key environmental regulator

representatives at both officer and senior levels
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to maintain and enhance

Boral's reputation in the community
- Engage with and foster pro-active relationships with members of the local

community, including to achieve a 'One Boral' approach with adjacent

Boral sites.
- Take the lead role on the Community Consultation Committees

Incident Management
- Facilitate the reporting, investigation and management of environmental

incidents and complaints in accordance with relevant procedures
- Facilitate the development and distribution of HSE Alerts and Learnings

Coaching and Support
- Participate in management team meetings
- Provide Ongoing technical advice to the business
- Provide advice and assistance to site managers in relation to

environmental aspects and impacts as they relate to site operations.
- Provide environmental and stakeholder awareness training to all levels of

site staff as required.
