Our client delivers critical mechanical and outage services at Callide Power Station in Biloela, supporting the ongoing operation of a major energy asset. Your new role
As a Special Class Welder, you will support outage activities at Callide Power Station by delivering high-quality welding and fabrication works across mechanical and structural scopes. Your role will involve pipe set-ups, welding fabrication, and work on boiler casings, completed in line with outage schedules, safety systems, and quality standards. You will work as part of a skilled team within a live power generation environment, following site procedures and contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of the outage.
What you'll need to succeed
* Demonstrated experience working on outages and projects within the power generation or heavy industrial sector
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with strong communication and collaboration skills
* Proven commitment to workplace safety and the wellbeing of yourself and others
* Hold current site requirements, including:
o Enter & Work in Confined Spaces (RIIWHS202E
o Working at Heights (RIIWHS204E - within the last 2 years)
o Construction White Card
* Ability to DIDO to Sit & Work the whole Shut Down
* 2 x Previous References
What you'll get in return
You'll secure a casual DIDO outage role at Callide Power Station in Biloela, commencing mid‐May and running through to late June. The position offers a Monday to Saturday roster with both day and night shifts, working 11‐hour shifts throughout the outage period. You'll receive EBA rates with overtime penalties calculated from the base rate, plus a site allowance. You'll be part of a supportive team delivering Downer's Callide outage, with either LAHA or accommodation provided for distant workers and potential opportunities for future project and outage work.
