Job Description
The company is seeking a skilled Telecommunication Field Engineer to join their team in Craigieburn VIC on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing and monitoring complex telecommunications networks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, design and monitor complex telecommunications networks.
* Install and configure telecom hardware such as routers, switches, antennas and base stations.
* Set up and deploy wired and wireless communication systems.
* Conduct RF testing, signal strength analysis and spectrum analysis.
* Perform system and network performance tests using OTDRs, signal meters etc.
* Carry out preventive maintenance and routine inspections on telecom equipment.
* Troubleshoot and repair hardware or connectivity issues in the field.
* Conduct field/site surveys to assess signal availability and structural conditions.
* Ensure proper grounding, cabling and power supply at installation sites.
* Document installations, configurations, test results and service reports.
* Ensure compliance with telecom standards, regulations and safety guidelines.
Requirements:
* A minimum of a Diploma qualification in Telecommunications or a related field.
* A minimum of 1 year relevant experience in the industry in a professional setting.
* A minimum of 1 year experience installing, configuring and maintaining telecommunications systems including fibre optic, copper and wireless networks.
* A minimum of 1 year experience performing site surveys, technical assessments and preparing installation documentation.
* A minimum of 1 year experience with fibre splicing, termination and testing using OTDR and power meters.
* A minimum of 1 year experience working with network hardware including routers, switches, modems and RF equipment.
* A minimum of 1 year experience interpreting technical drawings, site plans and network schematics.
* A minimum of 1 year experience documenting field work, preparing service reports and maintaining compliance with telecommunications regulations.
* Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform on-site analysis and resolution of technical problems.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Familiarity with maintaining detailed logs and documentation of inventories, parts, equipment and instruments, as well as communication policies and procedures.
