The National Pickleball League (NPL) is Australia's fastest-growing sport and entertainment business. Founded in 2022, we now operate across four pillars: professional and community leagues (NPLeague), owned venues in Melbourne (The Jar), a global SaaS tournament platform (LADER / NPTournaments), and a multi-sport licensing brand (PARK Racquet Club). We have 30,000+ members, teams across VIC, NSW and QLD, and ambitions well beyond Australia.
We move fast. Standards are high. The work gets seen.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a hungry, junior marketing professional with strong instincts for visual communication and social media. You know your way around design tools, you understand what makes content stop a scroll, and you take pride in getting the details right.
The right person will grow into a Senior Marketing role as NPL scales. This is explicitly a stepping‐stone role — but only if you earn it.
What You Will Do
Social Media
* Own the day‐to‐day content calendar across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Facebook for NPL, The Jar, and PARK Racquet Club, with direct guidance from the Head of Brand
* Write sharp, on‐brand captions and copy in line with NPL's tone – confident, direct, no filler
* Schedule and publish content, monitor engagement, and respond to community comments and DMs
* Track platform analytics weekly and surface what is and is not working
Graphic Design & Content Production
* Produce social graphics, event assets, sponsor collateral, and ad creatives using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
* Maintain visual consistency across all NPL brands
* Brief and collaborate with external video editors and photographers when needed
* Assist in building out content templates that the broader team can use efficiently
Campaigns & Events
* Support the execution of marketing campaigns across NPLeague seasons, venue launches, and sponsor activations
* Coordinate marketing logistics for events – signage, social coverage plans, on‐the‐day content capture
* Help build and deploy EDM (email) campaigns via our CRM/email platform
* Assist in tracking campaign performance and preparing simple reports
General Marketing Support
* Keep asset libraries and content folders organised and up to date
* Assist with website content updates where required
* Contribute to briefing documents, content plans, and marketing calendars
* Be across what is happening across all NPL pillars so your content is always informed and relevant
What We Are Looking For
Skills & Experience
* Confident with social media platforms – you understand the difference between a good Instagram post and a great one
* Solid graphic design ability in Canva; Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator is a genuine advantage
* Strong written communication – you can write in a brand voice, not just your own
* Organised and self‐directed – you manage deadlines without being chased
* Basic video editing skills (Reels, short‐form content) is a plus
* Exposure to email marketing tools (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or similar) is desirable but not essential
* Some understanding of analytics – Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, or similar
You
* Genuinely interested in sport, community, and culture – you do not need to be a pickleball player, but you need to care about what we are building
* Hungry to learn and willing to do the unglamorous work alongside the exciting stuff
* Comfortable working across multiple brands and projects at the same time
* Sharp eye for detail – you notice when something is off‐brand before anyone has to tell you
* Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Media, Design or a related field is preferred – not essential if your portfolio speaks for itself
What You Will Get
* Salary of $60,000 (+super) full‐time equivalent, pro‐rated to 3 days per week ($36,000 + Super)
* Real ownership and creative autonomy from day one – this is not a "fetch coffee and resize assets" role
* Direct exposure to a fast‐growing, multi‐venue sports business across league, technology, property, and events
* Access to The Jar venues (Melbourne's leading pickleball and padel facility) and NPL events
* A small, tight team where your contribution is visible and recognised
* Genuine career progression as NPL grows – we promote from within.
* View to a Full Time role if you are proactive, self‐driven and achieve excellence in the part‐time position.
Work Arrangements
This is a part‐time role structured around three days per week. We are flexible on which days work best for the right person, with 2 days per week required in person at our Richmond or South Melbourne base. The remaining day can be worked remotely.
You will work across multiple NPL locations and activations throughout the year – some weekend or evening availability for events will occasionally be required, with flexibility given in return.
