About Central Gippsland Health
Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale, 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale offers access to the Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach, and the Victorian Alps.
CGH provides acute care within an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond, with beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra, Heyfield). Services include emergency, critical care, neonatal care, operating theatres, day procedures, oncology, dialysis, general medical, and sub-acute services like rehabilitation.
CGH is also a teaching hospital affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health, offering placements and clinical experience for students.
About the Department
The Dental Department is based within Central Gippsland Health, Sale. The clinic operates 5 chairs daily, with a dynamic team including Dental Therapists, Oral Health Therapists, Dentists, and Pros.
About the Role
This position is part of a team of Dental practitioners managing five full-time public dental chairs at the Sale Dental Clinic. The role involves working closely with the Dental Team to meet departmental objectives and maintain service standards. The person in this role will contribute to quality improvement and collaborate with broader health service teams, GPs, clients, and external agencies.
The role supports other Dental practitioners, staff, and student placements, contributing to service development. It provides general dental services to eligible Victorian public dental patients, focusing on residents of Wellington Shire.
Duties
Clinical
* Perform examinations, diagnostics, treatment planning, and patient treatments.
* Provide advice to less experienced dental practitioners and accept referrals.
* Work within the scope of practice for Oral Health Therapists.
Productivity
* Achieve productivity benchmarks as set by CGHS, in line with funding guidelines.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Bachelor of Oral Health/Bachelor of Oral Health Science or equivalent Australian qualification.
* Registration with the Australian Dental Board.
