The successful applicant will play a key role in enhancing instructional capability, strengthening student engagement, and improving academic outcomes within the program. About This Role In 2026 QPSC will be partnering with the Alexandra Hills TAFE Senior Studies Program, and we are seeking a Head of Department - Senior Schooling, to support the Head of School and continue to build the program from strength to strength. The Alexandra Hills TAFE Senior Studies Program allows students to complete grades 11 and 12, in a flexible, personal, and mature learning environment where students can complete their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and work towards gaining an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR). The Head of Department - Senior Schooling position will work closely with the Head of School to ensure alignment with the QPSC and TAFE strategic priorities, support curriculum implementation, and embed effective pedagogical practice in the senior schooling portfolio. The role will also have oversight of QCAA processes for all senior subjects. Responsibilities Include Leading the development and implementation of a strategic Senior Schooling portfolio that reflects the improvement agenda and priorities. Collaborate effectively with Head of School and TAFE staff to strengthen engagement and outcomes for students. Ensure compliance with QCAA and Departmental curriculum policies, including reporting, assessment, and certification requirements. Mentor and coach teachers to enhance pedagogical capability, promote evidence-based practice, and build a shared culture of professional growth. Contribute proactively to college-wide leadership, planning, and decision-making as a valued member of the QPSC leadership team. Interested?
