They are looking for an experienced Cook to join their team.The RoleThis is for a full time role with an annual salary of $73,500 plus superannuation. The role is based in Emerald in QLD.ResponsibilitiesExamine food to ensure quality and presentationCooking variety of dishes from the menu and on pans with guidance of head chefUsing different methods of cooking such as pan frying, deep frying, steaming, boiling and roastingPrepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foodsPortioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishesRegulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment maintain them in good working conditionReporting to management if any maintenance is requiredMaintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipmentReview menu with head chef and contribute to some seasonal changes to the menuFollow and maintain all OH&SC requirement for safe kitchen operations.Clean and maintain work area and kitchen equipmentSetting up and stocking stations with all necessary suppliesCooking menu items in co-operation with the rest of the kitchen staffAssist in the development of the menu in consultation with the chef and the restaurant managerRequirementsAt least a Certificate 4 qualification in commercial cookeryMinimum 2 years of cookery experience in a commercial kitchenAt least 2 years' experience of cooking on the grillAt least 2 years' experience in preparing meals that cater to various dietary restrictions, such as gluten-free, vegan, or nut-free options.Must be able to cook different proteins including seafood, beef, lamb and porkPassion for great food and presentationUnderstanding of, and commitment to, food safetyExperience in kitchen operations and in managing a teamExperience in training kitchen staff
