About the Opportunity
Based in Brisbane, the Accounts Payable Officer will perform the day-to-day activities for accounts payable processing and associated tasks in a timely and accurate manner, and provide expert advice and customer service to the business.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Supplier invoice and credit note entry, including matching to Purchase Orders
* Prepare and finalise supplier payments.
* Supplier statement reconciliations
* Assistance with end of month accruals
* Actioning new supplier account applications and maintenance of supplier master data
* Action and resolve supplier enquiries
* Ensure the integrity of key general ledger accounts including (but not limited to) the accounts payable and GRNI ledgers, including monthly reviews of aged items.
* Report on Aged Payables plus other ad hoc reporting where applicable
* Development and maintenance of Accounts Payable policies and procedures, including identifying improvements to these
* Perform general administrative and clerical duties within Finance Department including filing, archiving, and other general duties.
About You
You are a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Payable professional with a strong commitment to accuracy and efficiency. You have experience processing high volumes of invoices, reconciling supplier accounts, and ensuring payments are made accurately and on time.
You possess excellent communication skills and can build positive relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers. You are proactive in resolving discrepancies, managing competing priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
What You Bring
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a full-function accounts payable position, ideally within the manufacturing industry
* Previous experience with large ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP etc) desirable
* Must be self-motivated and able to work autonomously
* Ability to work independently, but also operate collaboratively as a member of the broader finance team
* Must possess strong organisational skills
* Well-developed problem-solving skills
* Strong attention to detail
* High level communication skills, both written and verbal
* Integrity with strong ethical underpinning
* Meticulous and thorough
* Advanced computer skills including with the Microsoft Office package suite (Excel, Outlook etc).
