Job Role: Community Connect Counsellor
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Connect Counsellor to join our multidisciplinary team. This part-time position will support carers who contact our service after hours, providing therapeutic support and coping strategies to those experiencing emotional distress.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality counselling services to carers via phone, including the activation of care and/or safety plans as required.
* Maintain effective relationships with crisis support services, making warm referrals/ transfers when necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Accreditation within an Australian professional association is essential.
* Experience with clinical therapies, including Rogerian and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, is highly valued.
* A background in a similar role, preferably in a large and/or complex organisation, would be advantageous.
* Professional indemnity insurance and the right to work within Australia are also mandatory requirements.
* A current valid Driver's Licence and ability to undertake some travel are preferred.
* Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (free online course) and satisfactory National Police Records Check are required.
* NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children's Check (Employee/Paid) are also essential.
