This role involves managing purchasing, inventory planning, and forecasting across multiple countries through Direct Import Supply Chains. The candidate will also lead initiatives to enhance customer experience by collaborating with Retail, Supply Chain, and Operations teams. Direct Imports is a strategic, high-growth initiative for Amazon, involving long-term business impact and significant year-over-year growth. The role requires partnering with various internal teams (Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain Technology, Retail, Finance) and external partners to support new business initiatives and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is an innovative problem solver, excellent communicator, and experienced in data-driven decision making. They should possess strong analytical skills, project delivery experience, and stakeholder management capabilities, working effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. Key Responsibilities Manage inventory health, including in-stock rates, planning, vendor lead times, fill rates, and forecast accuracy for imports. Develop data-driven solutions for supply chain challenges. Create forecasting scenarios to improve buying decisions. Lead automation initiatives for imports in emerging countries. Improve vendor operational performance through consulting on forecasting and operations. Build and maintain relationships with senior vendor leaders to optimize joint import activities. A Day in the Life You will monitor inventory health, adjust forecasts, and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple regions, adapting priorities as needed. About the Team The Global Purchasing team focuses on direct buying from origin in emerging countries, aiming to provide customers worldwide with the best selection and prices. The team is relatively new and growing rapidly. Qualifications 7+ years of program or project management experience. Proficiency in using data and metrics to drive improvements. Experience managing end-to-end programs and communicating results to leadership. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of experience in process improvement. Master's or MBA degree in related fields.
