We're offering the following Apprenticeship programs based in Waratah, commencing in February 2026, an exciting opportunity to launch your career with Transport for NSW For more information, view the role descriptions by clicking the links below:
* Bridge Construction and Maintenance Apprenticeship (Please note: This program does not lead to a carpentry qualification)
* Civil Construction Apprenticeship
No previous experience is required. You'll receive comprehensive training, earn while you learn and develop in-demand skills through real hands-on experience within a NSW government agency.
About you:
* You are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or an Australian permanent resident
* You have completed Year 10 or hold a Record of School Achievement (RoSA) or equivalent
* You are ready to commence full-time employment in February 2026
* You hold, or are in the process of obtaining, a C Class driver licence
* You have access to reliable transport to travel to the office or depot
* You are comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, or near live traffic as required
* You are willing to travel as part of your role
* You have basic computer literacy skills
* You demonstrate teamwork and maintain a positive, accountable approach in all you do
* You take pride in consistently delivering your best across school, work, and personal life
* You proactively seek opportunities to learn, grow, and take on new challenges
* You manage your time effectively and stay organised to meet your commitments

* 3 year fixed-term, full-time Apprenticeship
* Certificate III qualification through structured TAFE courses

Rates of pay are dependent on age at commencement. The rates listed below are effective from 1 July 2024. Increase to Apprentice pay rates from 1 July 2025 onwards are not yet specified but will apply at the time of commencement.

Adult weekly rate (21 years old or over at the commencement of program) as at 1 July 2024

Recruitment Timeline:
To support a smooth and efficient hiring process, below is an overview of the anticipated recruitment timeline.
Once applications close, the Talent team will review all submissions for shortlisting.
A virtual information session will be held on Wednesday 24 September at 10:00AM and Monday 29 September at 4:00PM. You will receive an email invitation and are required to attend one of the sessions.
Face-to-face interviews will take place between 13 October and 7 November 2025.
Candidates who are successful at interview will progress to pre-employment checks.
A talent pool may be created for future roles over the next 18 months. If you are assessed as suitable and a vacancy becomes available, you may be contacted to complete pre-employment checks.
