**THE POSITION**
The Co-curricular Music Coordinator (MBBC) is responsible for managing and supporting tenured and sessional music staff working at Moreton Bay Boys' College. Music at The Moreton Bay Colleges is a single program operating across both the girls' and boys' campuses. This leadership position is based at MBBC, however work will be carried out at both MBC and MBBC. The role involves management of all on-campus co-curricular music, resources, and performances, including Chapel Services and ceremonial events.
The Co-curricular Music Coordinator (MBBC) is responsible to the Director of Music - The Moreton Bay Colleges and ultimately the Principal (MBBC). All staff are employed by the CEO and Executive Principal of MBC and MBBC.
All staff need to be supportive of the values, Christian ethos and Ethical Statement of these Uniting Church day schools for girls and boys from P-12.

**MAIN OBJECTIVES**:
- Ensure that the daily operations of co-curricular music at MBBC are well organized, efficient, and support high quality student learning experiences
- Daily management of co-curricular music staff working at MBBC
- Model enthusiasm for and commitment to the growth of high quality co-curricular music activities for boys
- Communicating with students, staff and parents
- Management of Resources and Record Keeping
- Work closely with the Director of Music (TMBC) and the Principal (MBBC) to ensure the needs of the boys' campus are met
- Other responsibilities, as directed by the CEO and Executive Principal
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- **Management of Music Staff**
- Create an environment which allows students to achieve their musical potential, and staff to provide high quality instruction
- Ensure that staff and students comply with all policies and procedures as detailed in the Music Handbook
- Communicate effectively with all tenured and sessional music staff working at the boys' campus, including classroom music teachers
- Advise the Director of Music (TMBC) of campus-specific staffing matters
- Promote and ensure staff comply with the College policies and practices to facilitate a safe and healthy work environment for staff and students
- Maintain an active network of music support personnel
- **Teaching and Learning**
- Teach private, group or class music lessons and direct co-curricular groups
- Coordinate student performances at assemblies and other internal and external events in consultation with the Director of Music (TMBC)
- Support the learning needs of all students, respecting their different learning styles, levels and abilities
- Use inclusive practices which incorporate and capitalise on the diversity of knowledge, social and cultural experiences, beliefs and values of students
- Support the integration of ICT into music teaching and learning
- Mentor and work with MBBC student leaders, especially the Cultural Captain(s) and MBC Music Captains
- Mentor and work with the MBBC Production Crew
- Encourage students to appreciate and perform a broad range of styles of music, whilst cultivating a rigorous approach to music study

**Management of Co-curricular Music at MBBC**
- Lead the implementation of the Moreton Bay Colleges' Music Program: Innovating for Excellence at the boys' campus
- Facilitate the continuing development of choral, instrumental and contemporary programs
- Involve the music groups as appropriate in a variety of school-based performance situations e.g. special school events, Chapel services, Assemblies, and other performances as required by the Principal or Director of Music
- Oversee the delivery of private music tuition programs at MBBC
- Be the first contact point and representative relating to co-curricular music at MBBC
- Assist with the preparation of invitations and programs for music performances in consultation with the Music Administration Assistant
- Promote and disseminate information about music activities to the MBBC College community in consultation with the Music Administration Assistant
- Write articles for College publications and for other promotional publications as required
- Actively support the Music Volunteers Community by attending meetings
- Maintain accurate records of students' participation and performance in co-curricular music programs at MBBC in relation to student awards
- Ensure adequate supervision of students during rehearsals and backstage during performances, both at MBBC and at MBC
- Participate in information sessions/evenings and address current and prospective parents as required
- Develop rehearsal schedules, performance calendars, and manage audition processes across both campuses in consultation with the Director of Music (TMBC)
