Opportunities
This role supports the Retail Life and Vitality Pricing team by delivering key actuarial work across pricing, financial management and compliance activities. You will assist the Senior Manager, Par Business and Pricing Support with the financial management and regulatory compliance of AIA Australia's Participating business, ensuring policyholder expectations and Life Act requirements are met. The role also provides actuarial support for pricing, reporting and maintenance of Retail Insurance and legacy products. This is a 12‐month fixed‐term contract, open to Sydney or Melbourne applicants.
Responsibilities
* Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and actuarial analysis for the Par business, taking clear accountability for results across profit reporting, experience analysis, forecasting and bonus recommendations.
* Provide effective pricing support for in‐force and new business initiatives, including profit testing, assumption setting, market analysis and high‐quality pricing reports.
* Manage competing priorities with urgency and flexibility, adapting quickly to changing requirements while consistently meeting deadlines.
* Show initiative and strong problem‐solving skills by identifying improvement opportunities, anticipating risks and seeking guidance when priorities conflict.
* Communicate clearly with both actuaries and non‐actuaries, building strong working relationships across Finance, Product, Policy Services, Retention and the wider Pricing team.
Qualifications
* Minimum one year of practical actuarial experience, with exposure to retail life insurance highly regarded and actuarial valuation experience viewed favourably.
* Currently progressing towards Fellowship of the Actuaries Institute, or an equivalent professional qualification.
* Sound understanding of the Australian life insurance industry, including product structures, prudential standards, taxation and relevant legislation.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non‐technical audiences.
