Maintenance Manager
Due to the ongoing growth of our business, Evia Yoghurt Co. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the GM this role will be an essential member of the Evia Yoghurt Co. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all maintenance activities across the facility to ensure optimal operation of machinery, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure. This role ensures that production equipment runs reliably and efficiently, adheres to regulatory compliance (e.g., food safety, occupational health), and supports continuous improvement in line with operational goals.

Qualification and experience:
Trade qualification in mechanical or electrical OR engineering degree OR equivalent relevant experience in a Maintenance Leadership role
years' experience leading maintenance teams in manufacturing (FMCG/dairy preferred)
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance Operations
• Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, waste water treatment and automation systems.
• Lead the rapid response to equipment failures to minimize downtime and prevent production losses.
• Ensure maintenance activities align with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and other food safety standards.
• Full development and utilization of the CMMS (Fiix)
• Utilize and manage the external service providers / contractors
• Ensure on time calibration of the critical assets including pasteurizer, flowmeters, thermometers and scales
1. Team Leadership
• Supervise, train, and develop maintenance technicians, fitters and engineers.
• Develop staffing plans and shift coverage for 24/7 operations.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Conduct annual performance review of the team and report the outcomes and the required development plans.
1. Asset Management
• Maintain accurate records of equipment, maintenance activities, spare parts inventory, and work orders.
• Optimize spare parts inventory to balance availability and cost.
• Develop and manage an asset lifecycle strategy.
• Leading reliability improvement in the engineering and maintenance team. Analyzing the performance of all operating assets and deliver long term asset improvement.
1. Project Management
• Lead capital projects including equipment installations, facility upgrades, and utility expansions.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams on design and commissioning of new systems.
• Prepare and manage project budgets and timelines.
1. Regulatory Compliance & Safety
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety regulations, including WSE, EPA, and food safety guidelines (e.g., SQF, CFMSR, WSEP, NSW Food Authority, DAFF, COSTCO, ALDI)).
• Implement and maintain maintenance work instructions and safety procedures.
• Participate in audits and inspections and drive corrective actions.
1. Continuous Improvement
• Analyze maintenance KPIs (MTTR, MTBF, OEE, etc.) to drive performance improvements. Reporting on KPIs on a monthly basis.
• Implement lean maintenance practices and reliability-cantered maintenance (RCM).
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures.
