Support Worker Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team and provide exceptional care and support to clients with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist clients with daily living needs, including personal care and medical requirements
* Foster independence and skill-building through engaging activities, such as cooking, crafts, music, sports, and reading
* Deliver in-home and community-based support tailored to individual goals and preferences
* Build positive, respectful relationships with clients and their families, ensuring open communication and empathy
Requirements:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse groups
* Resilient and adaptable, with capacity to prioritize and problem-solve under pressure
* Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays, with willingness to undertake sleepovers if required
* Able to use Microsoft Word and Outlook efficiently, with basic computer skills
* Mandatory qualifications include current Australian Driver's Licence, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Able to pass a National Criminal History Check, with prior experience supporting high-needs disability clients an advantage
* Desirable: Certificate III or IV in Disability Support (or equivalent), understanding of NDIA processes, and handy craft skills such as sewing, knitting, or crocheting
