- leading an SEO team, with people on
- and off-shore
- having an in-depth understanding of SEO and all the bits of the digital marketing jigsaw
- understanding the business environment and management reporting.

**The job**
**Please note that "Head of SEO" is a MANAGERIAL position, not an SEO specialist position. People/business management duties form half the role, so you really will need SOUND management experience ie at least 12 months.**
- Developing and implementing a 12-month plan for SEO, for sign-off by the CEO, to achieve material growth in the SEO revenue line, and report on progress monthly
- Continually reviewing performance of the SEO business model, end-to-end processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Implementing proactive retention strategies, processes and activities
- Leading, training and motivating the SEO team to achieve company, team and individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including scheduled team updates, planning sessions, monthly KPI reviews, quarterly Individual Development Plans (IDPs), and regular one-on-ones with each team member
- Managing, monitoring and controlling the performance of the SEO team eg business growth, client metrics and retention, SEO dashboard/traffic light report, opportunities for improvement
- Leading by example with proactive cross-team collaboration/communication, client management, and a genuine focus on individuals resolving problems rather than escalating.
**The skills**
- A sound understanding of: SEO strategies, digital marketing products/services, managing client expectations, strategic planning, leading a diverse team, and presenting management reports - realistically, this probably means about two years' MANAGEMENT experience
- That amazing manager ability to track steps towards deadlines, keep people informed, check deliverables against contracts, drive continuous improvement, and closely track revenue
- Excellent English speaking/writing ability ie negotiating through blockages across internal teams, dealing with difficult clients, presenting in management meetings, having difficult conversations with team members.
