Job Title: Mixed Crop Farmer

As a mixed crop farmer, you will be responsible for planning and managing the planting, cultivation, and harvesting of various crops based on seasonal and market demands.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare soil by ploughing, fertilising, and ensuring appropriate irrigation methods are implemented.
* Select and procure seeds, fertilisers, and other agricultural inputs, ensuring their quality and suitability for specific crops.
* Maintain proper irrigation and optimum growth conditions.
* Monitor crops for signs of pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies and take preventive or corrective measures.
* Operate and maintain farming machinery and equipment such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems.
* Implement crop rotation and soil management practices to maintain soil fertility and sustainability.
* Keep accurate records of farming activities, including planting schedules, yields, pest control measures, and financial transactions.
* Ensure compliance with agricultural regulations, environmental standards, and health and safety protocols.
* Analyse market trends and pricing to determine the best time and method to sell harvested crops.
* Supervise and train farm workers, ensure efficient performance, and adherence to farm practices.
* Develop strategies to optimise farm productivity and profitability, including diversification of crops and adoption of new technologies.
* Manage farm budgets and resources effectively to minimise costs and maximise returns.
* Collaborate with agricultural experts, suppliers, and buyers to enhance operations and secure business opportunities.

Requirements:

* At least 4 years experience in crop farming.
* Strong knowledge of soil preparation, crop management, and pest control practices.
* Proficiency in operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment.
* Ability to analyse and respond to market trends and demands.
* Excellent record-keeping and organisational skills.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* A commitment to sustainable farming practices.
