Sault Restaurant is located in Sailors Falls, Daylesford. One of the spa country's best restaurants. Our menus are designed with a focus on seasonal high quality produce, directly from the farm source itself. We have our own extensive kitchen gardens providing seasonal produce and enhancing the dinning experience for our customers. Quality not quantity is very important to us and a supportive work environment for all. We have a team of 4 chef's working together to help create an exceptional dinning experience.
About the role
A most exciting opportunity is now open for submissions. As the Head Chef of Sault Restaurant, you will be leading a wonderful team in delivering high quality food, focusing on seasonal, regional produce. You will be responsible for all kitchen operations, from menu planning and preparation to restaurant service. You will be working directly with the owner operators and management. Sault operates from Wednesday to Sunday and this position is full time.

There is a great work-life balance and we have a strong focus on your physical and mental well-being. Mondays and Tuesdays off every week. From March to November we are closed on Sunday evenings and as such, only trade four nights per week during that time. We do not operate over the Christmas and New Years Eve period giving you important family time.
About you
* We are seeking a talented HEAD CHEF ready to take the next step in their career or an experienced SOUS CHEF who has the ambition and talent to step-up into the role. This HEAD CHEF role will require you to have the relevant experience within a fine dining or bistro style establishment. You must display excellent skills and be ready for such a position in your personal life and career.
* Enthusiastic, passionate and committed to delivering high quality produce at one of the regions best restaurants.
* Must have own mode of transport.
* Assistance will be provided with finding housing etc. for re-location if required
* Sponsorship will not be considered at this stage, unless there is an exceptional candidate (if you believe this is you then let us know)
You must be residing within Australia and be available for interview and multiple trials. Flexible start available, with a vision to fill the position once the best candidate is found. Scheduled start date June 2026
