Department for Health and Wellbeing – Public Health – Health Protection and Regulation, Scientific Services Salary: $88,255 to $97,667 – PO2 – Full Time / Ongoing appointment Overview: The Scientific Officer, Chemical Hazards, is a member of the Chemical and Environmental Hazards Team. In this role you will: Design and conduct an integrated series of studies to understand human exposure to various pollutants and the mechanisms of indoor and outdoor contamination, Conduct a broad range of environmental sampling, statistical analyses, data management, biostatistical analysis and reporting for a variety of chemical hazard related projects; including lead sources and pathways of contamination to assist with reducing the exposure of people to lead, and Undertake investigations, assessments and projects pertaining to human health risk assessment of exposures to chemical and environmental hazards. Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact) SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace. Special Conditions The position is based in Adelaide. The position requires some out of hours work, performing considerable field work duties, and travel to regional country areas that may require overnight stays. A current South Australian Drivers Licence and a willingness to drive are essential.
