Fixed Term, Full time Contract to 28 February 2030Generous leave provisions including 6 weeks annual leaveSalary packaging up to $15,900 tax freeFixed Term, Full time Contract - until 28 February 2030Based in Alice SpringsDo you possess strong health systems research skills, with expertise in primary health care?Do you have a passion for meaningful research and translation that seeks to improve the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations in remote locations?If this sounds like you, join our team to help make a difference.The RoleTwo new MRFF-funded projects on multidisciplinary primary health care (PHC) in the remote Northern Territory (NT) and nation-wide will support efforts to develop, implement, and sustain innovative models of multidisciplinary team-based care in areas of highest unmet health need in Australia. Supported by the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence for Strengthening Health Systems in Remote Australia (CRESTRA) and in close partnership with Central Australian Aboriginal Congress (Congress), these projects will engage remote Aboriginal communities, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services, leading researchers and a national network of PHC stakeholders to improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.We are seeking a Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow to work with CRESTRA and Congress to successfully deliver these pivotal projects. The incumbent will have access to exceptional opportunities to work with local community and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service stakeholders in the NT, access research career mentorship, and engage with leading researchers and policymakers nation-wide to shape PHC reform.You will be expected to attend an annual Strategic Think Tank event, network with other postdoctoral researchers across the country and internationally and contribute to national policy papers on multidisciplinary PHC.About YouThe successful applicant will ideally be a postdoctoral researcher with clinical and/or postdoctoral qualifications in health or public health, and you will have the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of audiences, including Aboriginal communities, health practitioners and policymakers.You AlsoDemonstrate an understanding of a range of research, analytical and evaluation skills, approaches and methodologies, and an aptitude to apply these to public health research and evaluation contexts; andHave an understanding of Aboriginal health and the role of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services and PHC.At a Level C, Applicants Will AlsoHave a proven ability to make significant and original high-quality contributions to research through activities such as quality publications and external grant acquisition that expand knowledge and practice in the discipline.Please see a full list of primary responsibilities and selection criteria in the position description.Why MenziesMenzies is a national leader in research and education that improves health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and populations across our region.
