Aboriginal Policy Development Lead
The role involves overseeing the development, implementation and monitoring of policies aimed at reducing the over-representation of Aboriginal people within the Victorian correctional system.
Key responsibilities include leading policy and program development, providing high-level strategic advice and complex reports to executive management and Ministers.
Additionally, you will be responsible for promoting and seeking endorsement of policy and program development and implementation through various forums.
* Lead the development of business and strategic planning processes for the Workforce and Aboriginal Outcomes division.
* Oversee the development and review of programs and other support services for Aboriginal people in custody.
Required skills and qualifications include experience in planning, policy development and implementation, as well as business functions such as contract management, data collation and analysis, reporting and secretariat/governance activities.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal community, both society and culture, and the issues impacting it are essential.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate sensitively and work effectively with the Victorian Aboriginal community, are also necessary.
This is an ongoing full-time role with a competitive salary range.
