Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Technical Manager, Analytics for a full‑time temporary role within a Federal Government department. This is a 12‑month assignment with potential for extension, providing the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant work in the health and aged care policy environment.
The Technical Manager, Analytics will contribute to major national initiatives by analysing complex health and aged care datasets, supporting pricing and funding work, and providing technical insights that shape policy decisions.
Responsibilities may include:
* Analysing data from public hospitals, private hospitals, aged care providers, and government bodies to support the development of statistical models and inform policy.
* Performing data reconciliation, validation, security checks, trend analysis and reporting.
* Conducting statistical modelling, including data cleaning, model design, implementation, evaluation and impact analysis.
* Contributing to improvements and technical analysis for a national benchmarking portal.
* Providing technical advice to internal working groups and managing stakeholder relationships.
* Preparing analytic working papers, briefing materials and technical documentation.
* Supporting project management activities, including documentation and recordkeeping.
* Providing administrative support for procurement and contract management.
* Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams on broader work programs.
We are seeking applicants with:
* Proven ability to deliver complex projects in uncertain or evolving environments.
* Strong technical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
* Experience in statistical or mathematical analysis and model development.
* Ability to write efficient, reproducible code (SAS, SQL or Python preferred).
* A pragmatic, solution‑focused approach to analysis within policy and stakeholder constraints.
* Experience working within high‑performing multidisciplinary teams.
* Strong critical thinking skills to assess and interpret complex modelling.
* Ability to communicate technical information clearly across varied audiences.
Desirable:
A bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline (such as mathematics, statistics, economics) or equivalent experience.
