**The Facility**
Established in 1804, this hospital holds the distinction of being Australia's second oldest healthcare facility. It stands as a prominent hub for clinical education, research, and collaboration with the University of Tasmania. The hospital offers accredited training opportunities in various fields, including anaesthetics, hyperbaric medicine, paediatrics, and ICU. Serving as the primary referral center for the entire state of Tasmania, this facility extends healthcare services to a population exceeding 240,000 residents. It boasts a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, encompassing both general and specialized disciplines, including paediatrics, obstetrics, and psychiatry. Furthermore, it holds the critical role of being the state's Tertiary Trauma Center, offering specialised care for severe injuries.

The hospital's busy Emergency Department, comprising 16 beds, attends to the needs of approximately 65,000 patients each year. With a 36-month ACEM accreditation for comprehensive training and a Tier 1 designation, it is a high quality institution for medical education and a workplace-based assessment (WBA) hospital.

**The Position**
The Registrar positions are responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and work under the direction and supervision of Consultants and Senior Medical Staff, therefore providing great support to learn and develop ED skills.

WBA - Work place based assessment can be offered as an opportunity for those that require.

**Requirements**:

- General, Provisional or Limited registration with AHPRA registration/ able to obtain AHPRA registration.
- SIMG's that have been assessed by ACEM and deemed partially or substantially comparable.
- IMG's that have completed the AMC MCQ (part 1)
- IMG's that are eligible via Competent Authority Pathway (work experience in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada or Ireland)

**Pay**
As per Tasmanian state award
