About the Opportunity

As a Senior Payroll Officer, you will:

Oversee end-to-end payroll processing to ensure accurate, timely payments in line with legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, and organisational policies.

Act as the key payroll contact point, providing clear, responsive, customer-focused advice and support to employees and managers.

Maintain payroll compliance, controls, and data integrity, ensuring records, systems, and processes meet governance and risk requirements.

Apply and interpret payroll legislation and frameworks, escalating complex matters where required.

As a Payroll Coordinator, you will:

Coordinate the end-to-end payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legislation, enterprise agreements, and University policies.

Proactively review payroll processes and systems, identifying opportunities to streamline, digitise, and improve efficiency.

Conduct compliance checks, audits, and reconciliations to safeguard payroll integrity.

Provide advice on payroll matters, including entitlements, overpayments, deductions, and award/classification changes.

Support internal and external audits, while building stronger governance and risk management frameworks.

About you

You will be able to demonstrate:

Demonstrated experience delivering payroll services in a complex, regulated environment.

Strong customer focus, accountability, and the confidence to challenge existing practices constructively

Solid knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments, and payroll compliance requirements.
