Senior Legal Specialist | Community Banking | Retail Banking — Bendigo Bank
Join Bendigo Bank as a Senior Legal Specialist in the Community Banking and Retail Banking area. This is a permanent, full-time role with flexible work options and a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence at a local Head Office at least 60% of the time. Bendigo Bank is open to applicants from locations across Australia.
Responsibilities
Provide legal advice and guidance to ensure compliance with the Franchising Code of Conduct and other statutory and regulatory obligations aligned to the Community Bank model.
Help ensure Bendigo Bank and its franchisees meet obligations under franchise agreements and provide strategic governance, compliance, risk and regulatory guidance across the Franchise Model, including ACCC, ASIC, APRA, AFCA, and asset sales and acquisitions.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of the Franchising Code of Conduct (or the ability to quickly learn), Corporations Law and other statutory and regulator requirements under the Community Bank model
Understanding of legislative impacts from a government perspective
Demonstrated legal experience ideally within Banking, Finance, Franchising, regulatory or compliance industries
Understanding of Banking, Finance and franchising governance frameworks and associated regulatory bodies
Ability to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of company structures and local company frameworks
Sound knowledge of general banking practices, advantageous
Strong negotiation, leadership and influencing skills
Qualified Lawyer with 7-10+ years PQE
