Join Eacon Mining Technology as an onsite AHS Support Technician and play a key role in supporting the world's leading autonomous haulage systems at customer mining operations. In this hands‑on role, you will be the frontline technical expert—installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining AHS hardware, software, and onboard instrumentation. You'll monitor system and fleet performance in real time, troubleshoot communication and connectivity issues, and take ownership of resolving technical problems to keep autonomous operations running safely and efficiently.
Working closely with Product, Support, and Engineering teams, you'll help translate field insights into system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives. You will participate in safety reviews, and contribute to the development of SOPs and troubleshooting guides. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced mining environments, enjoys hands‑on technical problem solving, and is passionate about supporting advanced autonomous technology and is looking for future growth opportunities in a rapidly expanding business.
This is a site‑based position operating on a rotating roster of 8 days on, 6 days off, followed by 7 nights on, 7 days off, with 12‑hour shifts. This role is offered on a full‑time basis and reports to our Tech Support Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Provide operational support to customers, ensuring smooth project execution and timely response to onsite needs.
Execute the installation, replacement, configuration, software upgrades and calibration of AHS systems, including onboard autonomous hardware, software and instrumentation of manned vehicles.
Continuously monitor system performance and fleet behaviour, proactively identify potential issues, and take ownership to resolve them quickly and effectively to minimise downtime.
Monitor communication between vehicles and control platforms; diagnose and troubleshoot network, connectivity, and configuration issues in real time.
Collect logs, replay data, and perform timely root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventive measures while ensuring accurate follow‑up and closure.
Capture, report and resolve product quality and system performance issues, driving continuous improvement, and problem closure.
Collaborate with Product, Support and Engineering teams to translate field experience into system/feature enhancements, system refinements, and operational improvements.
Participate in performance monitoring, safety reviews and risk assessment to enhance system reliability and operational excellence.
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation, including work reports, incident logs, configuration records, and change management updates.
Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and site specific requirements.
Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.
Previous Mining Experience.
Relevant Trade Certificate/Qualification (eg; Electrician/HD Fitter/Mechanic).
Western Australian Driver's License.
Ability to produce high quality and accurate documentation to support AHS Support roles.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with ability to gain proficiency in new tools developed in-house.
Experience and ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
Effective communication and collaboration skills across teams, including customers, vendors, and R&D functions.
High sense of responsibility, structure work habits, and continuous improvement mindset.
Desired Criteria
Previous Fleet Management / Autonomous Systems Experience
Experience in system commissioning, including hardware installation, software configuration and system calibration
Prior field service experience with Autonomous Driving, Mining Autonomation, Heavy Vehicle Systems is a strong plus
Knowledge of network, virtualisation, databases or containerised environments (eg; Docker) is an advantage
