About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Logistics Coordinator / Transport Allocator to join our dynamic team within our Townsville Depot. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our transport network, maintaining exceptional service standards, and supporting the continuous improvement of our logistics processes. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between the depot, drivers, and customers, ensuring timely deliveries and collections.
This permanent, full-time role reports to the Depot Manager and is responsible for the following;
* Coordinate daily fuel transport operations across multiple customer contracts, including scheduling and allocating tankers, drivers, and resources efficiently while ensuring compliance with fuel handling regulations.
* Manage fuel delivery and collection activities to meet contractual KPIs, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, safety, and cost-effectiveness in all operations.
* Monitor fuel movements in real-time, proactively addressing issues such as delays, vehicle availability, or safety concerns, and escalate incidents as required to maintain service and regulatory standards.
* Implement and maintain operational procedures, safety protocols, and performance measures to enhance service delivery, compliance, and operational efficiency within the fuel supply chain.
* Communicate effectively with depot staff, tanker drivers, and customers to provide updates, manage expectations, and resolve any operational or safety-related issues.
* Maintain accurate records of fuel transport activities, including route planning, vehicle utilization, fuel load tracking, and service performance metrics, ensuring full traceability and regulatory compliance.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within the depot, identifying opportunities for process enhancements, operational cost reductions, safety improvements, and increased customer satisfaction.
* Collaborate with the Depot Manager, operations team, and safety officers to ensure alignment with company objectives, customer requirements, and industry-specific safety and environmental regulations.

* 7 On / 7 Off Roster (Tuesday ? Wednesday): A consistent and balanced schedule designed to provide predictability, ensuring equitable work distribution while supporting effective planning for personal and professional commitments.

Desirable Skills & Attributes:
* Previous experience in fuel logistics, tanker allocation, or hazardous goods transport.
* Experience with KPI-driven operations and continuous improvement initiatives in transport or logistics.
* Understanding of NHVL (National Heavy Vehicle Law) legislation and other relevant transport, safety, and compliance regulations.
* Knowledge of transport and logistics regulations, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
* Skilled in managing conflicts or issues with drivers, clients, or internal teams diplomatically and effectively
