We have a unique opportunity for a Senior Urban Designer to join our busy team in Melbourne with an opportunity to work closely with the landscape architecture team and play a key role in growing the urban design offer in Melbourne. As a key member of the team you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects across our business sectors including transport, water, and defence. You will collaborate with a large multi-disciplinary team and contribute to creative solutions that yield award‐winning outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Accurate provision of design analysis as well as input, advice and expertise on urban design projects to deliver design services to key city‐shaping projects.
* Effective management of sub‐consultants preparing feasibility studies, context analysis, masterplan/open space strategies and precinct plan development.
* Accurately apply knowledge of local council and state government and federal strategies and guidelines as they relate to urban design approaches.
* Independently lead urban design projects, leading client interaction and commercial oversight of projects.
* Assist in business development, contributing to bid tenders and proposals.
* Lead client interaction and stakeholder closely with the landscape architecture and other design disciplines to assist on the development and delivery of active projects.
Qualifications
* Master's degree in urban design.
* Ability to work independently with proven ability to lead projects and work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Bring industry knowledge and contacts with a view to pursuing urban design opportunities and assisting in team growth.
* Exposure to business development would be highly regarded.
* Proven experience in providing and delivering design advice on city‐shaping infrastructure and urban design projects.
* Experience working in a consulting environment.
* Strong stakeholder management skills.
* In-depth understanding of sub‐contractor management, delivering project milestones on time and on budget.
