Keolis Downer Northern Beaches is in the lookout for an experienced, motivated and safety-driven Fleet & Facility Manager to lead our engineering team and ensure our fleet and facilities operate at peak performance. About the Role :
As the Fleet and Facility Manager, you will be accountable for the maintenance, safety, and performance of our bus fleet and depot facilities situated in the Northern Beaches and North Shore regions.
This role requires the provision of effective leadership and direction to the team, aligning with the strategic vision, mission, and values of KD Northern Beaches.
Reporting directly to the KDNB Asset Manager, you will collaborate with various departments and external partners to effectively address business and customer needs.
This position is based in Brookvale, where your contributions can significantly impact our operations and service delivery.
To be eligible for this opportunity you will have :
Qualified trade person with a successfully completed relevant trade certificate or engineering qualification.
At least 5 years' experience in fleet maintenance management (public transport preferred).
Heavy Vehicle Inspection Station Proprietor's Authority (or ability to obtain).
Certificate IV in Business Studies (desirable).
Bus Operator Accreditation Scheme (BOAS) (desirable).
MR License essential (HR preferred).
Basic safety awareness training.
Good organizational and communication skills.
Experience and understanding of quality systems and continuous improvement as defined by the applicable Australian Standard AS9001 – desirable.
Technical knowledge of repair and maintenance process for heavy / large vehicles or mobile plant.
Responsibilities
To ensure a safe and efficient operational environment, prioritize the maintenance of the fleet, workshops, and equipment by adhering to established procedures and using appropriate materials.
Keep all assets within your responsibility well-maintained and clean, addressing any maintenance needs promptly.
Foster a collaborative and supportive atmosphere by providing strong leadership to your team, while also engaging with other departments and depot staff to proactively address safety concerns and minimize any potential downtime for the fleet and facilities.
Manage budgets, contracts, stock, and inventory efficiently.
Enforce safety, quality, and environmental policies (Zero Harm focus).
Train your team and others as required in line with Keolis Downer Business Objectives, Aim, Purpose and Values and monitor team performance.
Ensure strong housekeeping and safe waste disposal practices.
Deliver reports, meet KPIs, and contribute to strategic improvement.
