Within the Administration function an APS 6 Administration Officer is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support work within an integrated workforce.
They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence mission and policy requirements.
An APS 6 Administration Officer will work independently with reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes.
They will exercise initiative and judgment in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures, provide detailed administration, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work, and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
This officer will set work priorities and manage workflows, build team capability through coaching, feedback, and development of the quality of work undertaken by others.
They may exercise associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve work-unit outcomes, have considerable stakeholder engagement and liaise with stakeholders on complex issues, identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and expectations, and contribute toward ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate for this role will have had recent experience in finance support roles.
With an eye for detail, they will be able to demonstrate initiative in managing competing priorities, perform and achieve complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support work within an integrated workforce, and ensure compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence mission and policy requirements.
They will resolve business issues as they arise, respond to changes in stakeholders' needs and expectations, and work under limited direction to achieve outcomes.
Be self-motivated, committed and possess strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
Be accountable to contribute toward ongoing self-improvement and professional development
Work collaboratively in a team-based environment, actively participating in and contributing to team meetings and exchanging information to support the work area and team objectives
Have the ability to be flexible and agile
Have the ability to build and maintain successful working relationships with stakeholders at all levels and work collaboratively in an integrated environment
Take the initiative to progress work to meet business objectives, recommend solutions for issues impacting the achievement of desired outcomes, and seek advice and guidance on more complex issues
Demonstrate attitudes and behaviours responsive to workplace change (including participating in and encouraging others to participate in change and contribute to successful outcomes)
Have the ability to work independently, professionally handle sensitive data and information
Security Clearance
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 1".
