The BelRose Group has been exclusively engaged by Galiwin'ku Women's Space Aboriginal Corporation to recruit a Case Manager for this important community role. This position supports women and families experiencing domestic and family violence and plays a key role in strengthening safety, culture and wellbeing in the Galiwin'ku community.
Galiwin'ku Women's Space Aboriginal Corporation is a Yolngu run organisation established by local women committed to addressing domestic and family violence in North East Arnhem Land. The organisation works through a two worlds approach that brings together Yolngu and Balanda knowledge. Its services include crisis support, prevention programs and crisis accommodation that empower families and strengthen culture.
As Case Manager you will work closely with women and families to develop and implement practical case plans that prioritise safety, wellbeing and stability. You will provide culturally respectful support, advocate for clients and connect individuals with services that meet their needs. This is a hands on role that requires strong relationship skills, sound judgement and the ability to work effectively within a cross cultural environment.
Key responsibilities
* Provide welcoming and responsive engagement for women and families accessing the service
* Support individuals experiencing domestic and family violence to explore available options and make informed decisions
* Develop and implement individual case plans in partnership with clients
* Monitor progress and review case plans to ensure they continue to meet client needs
* Maintain accurate and confidential client records in line with organisational standards
* Identify safety risks and take appropriate action in line with organisational procedures
* Assist clients to connect with support services and strengthen community supports
Ideal profile
* Diploma in Community Services or a related field
* Current Ochre Card and willingness to undertake a criminal history check
* Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
* Ability to work respectfully in a cross cultural environment
* Clear written and verbal communication skills
* Understanding of domestic and family violence and its impacts
* Experience working with Aboriginal communities is highly valued
