Add expected salary to your profile for insightsAs a OHS Manager, you'll be essential in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and contractors.Your key responsibilities will include:Ensure compliance with all OH&S and Quality policies.Obtain and review Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and other OH&S documentation from subcontractors before site approval.Conduct site-specific safety inductions for new workers.Review and amend subcontractors' SWMS as needed.Perform regular safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.Hold weekly toolbox meetings to consult on OH&S matters with workgroups and safety representatives.Maintain and update OH&S folders and create new ones for new projects.Oversee compliance of subcontractors, supervise Site Managers' safety practices, and provide PPE to personnel.This is a site-based position. You will need to have a strong grasp of safety legislation and best practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build relationships across the organization. This role requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Responsibilities of the role include:Provide support, coordination and advice of Health Safety practices, systems and procedures within a defined workplaceConduct Health And Safety audits and inspectionsIdentify hazards and event prevention programsImplement occupational health and safety procedures based on approved company policies in the areas of health, safety and fire preventionCoordinate the investigation of causes on site and maintain documentation in accordance with Health and Safety proceduresTo provide Health and Safety specialist advice and technical input to delivery, ensuring that legal and contractual obligations / risks are identified and communicated appropriatelyMaintain records of all Health and Safety requirements at the work place, in accordance with legislative company requirements and provide statistical summaries of these recordsConduct return to work coordinator activitiesTo be successful in this key role, you must haveDiploma Safety in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalentExperience within the Construction IndustryExperience in HSE management techniques and toolsThe ability to thrive in a dynamic and busy environmentQuantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projectsAdvanced skills in relevant computer software packages; use of basic functions of word processing, spread sheet and email softwareAbility to conduct and interpret audits and reviewsCulture:SLC Bayside merges professionalism with family values.
