This is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career in residential drafting, working alongside experienced professionals who will provide mentorship, training, and hands‑on experience in the industry.
Accountabilities
* Assisting in preparing, modifying, and finalising architectural drawings in line with client requirements.
* Drafting and reviewing tender and contract drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Gaining an in‑depth understanding of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and applying it to design work.
* Conducting quality checks on drawings to align with developer guidelines, council regulations, and energy rating standards.
* Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, consultants, suppliers, and local councils.
* Supporting the drafting team by responding to technical inquiries and assisting in problem‑solving during the design process.
* Maintaining and updating project documentation and ensuring all records are organised and easily accessible.
* Keeping up to date with industry trends, drafting techniques, and relevant software advancements.
About you
* Formal qualification in drafting.
* Experience in using ArchiCAD (ideally) or Revit software packages.
* A keen eye for detail with a strong problem‑solving mindset.
* Competence in reading, interpreting, and producing working drawings.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
* A proactive and adaptable approach to learning and development.
