We are currently seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to join our team.
As Fleet Manager, you will report to the Engineering and Asset Manager and play a crucial role in managing our fleet operations. Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing the lifecycle management of various asset classes in collaboration with the Operations team
* Establish and negotiate with our strategic partners for asset purchases, maintenance contracts and other fleet related services.
* Report on Company performance on ensuring assets are properly maintained, repaired and serviced in line with OEM recommendations.
* Manage the assets in the fleet ensuring they are maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements
* Report on Total Cost of Ownership across the fleet and drive improvements to optimise fleet performance, reduce costs and improve sustainability.
* Utilise information from the fleet management system and telematics to analyse performance trends, predict maintenance needs and optimise fleet performance
* Maintaining electronic plant file systems for individual assets
* Providing capital asset quotations
* Preparing fixed-term hire quotations using company methodologies
* Procuring capital assets within company guidelines, including organizing inductions at customer sites
* Ensuring final build specifications align with customer requirements
* Overseeing internal capital work orders to ensure accuracy with approved materials and expenses
* Coordinating asset disposals in accordance with company processes
* Managing and monitoring asset insurance policies to reflect acquisitions and disposals
* Maintaining new asset registration data
* Tracking capital procurement, build schedules, expense registers, quotations, and disposal reports
* Managing telematics integration across the Porter Plant Fleet
* Handle insurance claims, ensuring adequate coverage
To excel in this role, you will have:
* Industry Experience – A solid track record in Heavy and Light Vehicle Procurement
* Negotiation Skills – Expertise in pricing, executing, and managing procurement initiatives
* Fleet Management Knowledge – Ability to analyze asset lifecycles and optimize warranties and the timing for disposals
* Attention to Detail – Strong focus on quality and precision
* Technical Fleet Expertise – Experience managing large fleets, including telematics and mechanical integrations
* Communication & Relationship Building – Proven ability to engage stakeholders and tailor solutions
