The Finance Manager is integral to the organisation in managing and advising on all financial aspects for the NORTH Foundation. Reporting to the CEO, this role will oversee all financial management, governance, compliance and budgets, as well as provide decision‐ready insights to the CEO to support strategy, investments and fundraising initiatives.
This standalone position will lead budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling and act as a conduit to the Northern Sydney Local Health District finance teams to ensure alignment across reporting, controls and regulatory requirements.

The Impact You Will Have in This Role
In this role, you will help shape the financial future of the organisation by delivering high‐quality modelling, forecasting and budgeting that guide strategic investment decisions and major fundraising initiatives. Your work will directly influence executive and Board‐level decision‐making, acting as a trusted adviser to the CEO and providing clear, actionable insights that shape long‐term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead financial strategy, modelling, forecasting and scenario analysis
* Develop and manage annual and multi‐year budgets aligned to strategic priorities
* Maintain and evolve the organisation's funding model
* Deliver accurate, timely and decision‐ready financial insights for the CEO, Board and committees
* Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, NSW Health and DGR requirements
* Act as the primary interface with NSLHD finance teams, ensuring alignment on governance, reporting and financial controls
* Oversee cashflow management, financial performance monitoring and risk management
* Coordinate external audit processes and manage relationships with auditors and advisors
* Oversee external bookkeeping and support effective financial operations across the organisation
Skills and Experience
* Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business or a related discipline
* CPA or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification (or near completion)
* Strong experience in a senior finance role, delivering all financial processes while also working at a strategic level
* Solid expertise across budgeting, forecasting, reporting and cashflow management in complex environments
* High capability with financial modelling, forecasting and long‐term planning
* Sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards, governance, audit, risk and compliance
* Highly developed skills in being a trusted adviser to executives, boards and/or committees and providing clear financial insights
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders and explain complex financial matters clearly
* Experience in not‐for‐profit, health or regulated environments highly regarded
* Solutions‐focused approach, exercising sound judgement, integrity and accountability in stewarding funds
