Job DescriptionWest Arnhem Regional Council is seeking motivated and community-minded Youth, Sport and Recreation Assistants to support the delivery of youth, sport and recreation programs across Council communities. This role supports activities that promote health, wellbeing and community participation, ensures facilities are well maintained, and assists in the delivery of structured and culturally appropriate programs for young people. Under supervision, key responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
* Assisting in the delivery of youth, sport and recreation activities
* Supporting scheduled programs at the Youth Centre
* Assisting with planning and delivery of targeted youth activities in consultation with community, schools and stakeholders
* Maintaining sport and recreation facilities to ensure they are clean, safe and well presented
* Ensuring equipment is secure and in good working order
* Supporting regular activities such as football, basketball and culturally-based programs
* Providing basic written reports on activities, attendance and feedback
* Providing relief lifeguard duties at the swimming pool where trained and directed
* Participating in training and staff meetings as required
