PROJECT MANAGER / PROJECT ENGINEER – AIRLIE BEACH

The Role:
This is a site-based Project Manager role requiring full-time presence on site, Monday to Friday. The position is dedicated to a project located in the Whitsundays region, with Whitsunday Regional Council as the client.
Construction on the project has commenced, and you will be responsible for managing the works through to practical completion.
As a minimum you will be responsible for the following;
* Maintain existing client relationships
* Manage an internal workforce to deliver the projects
* Source and manage external contractors where required.
* Effectively manage project Quality, Safety and Environmental compliance and systems with respect to inspections, checklists, documentation, and record keeping.
* Daily cost tracking, forecasting, and commercial reporting.
* Attend client site meetings.
* On-Site Management
* Provide support for site staff in resolving any issues that may be associated with the scheduling and coordination of trade contractors and suppliers.
* Take ownership for the project budget - ensure project targets are achieved.
* Schedule/Manage Maintenance on company owned Plant and Equipment
* Reporting project progress to the Directors/ General Manager at monthly management meetings.
* Tender on future work packages
Skills and Experience:
To be successful in this position you will need:
* Trade or tertiary qualification in Building, Construction or Engineering.
* Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar role with demonstrated ability in comprehension and interpretation of contractual documents, specifications, and drawings.
* An understanding of law and codes governing projects.
* Strong leadership skills and the capacity to build a high performing team environment.
* Be capable of managing multiple projects (if managing smaller projects)
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Excellent time management skills.
* To be commercial, approachable, and excited to learn.
* Ability to develop, mentor and motivate staff.
Remuneration:
Salary Package - Agreed remuneration based on experience
