Macquarie College is seeking a passionate Senior School Humanities teacher for Economics, Business and Commerce subjects.

The position is full-time commencing Term 3 2025 on an initial 12 month contract with the potential to extend.

1. A demonstrable commitment to working in the ministry of Adventist Education as defined by the Adventist Schools Australia statement on
2. Intellectually and emotionally intelligent with a demonstrated love of the teaching profession.
3. Guided by a strong ethical framework, morally courageous and judicious in decision-making.
4. Driven to achieve the best outcomes for the student, parents, staff and the broader MC community within the framework of MC’s Strategic Intent.
5. A demonstrated capacity to meet the professional expectations of the teaching profession as expressed by AITSL and NESA.
6. Strong literacy and numeracy skills and the ability to make learning come to life for students through the delivery of student-centred differentiated learning programs.
7. A strategic researcher and creative and critical thinker with a demonstrated capacity to collaboratively contribute to the ongoing adaptive build-out of a best-practice, future-focused K-12 learning program.
8. The capacity to infuse design thinking and maker space cultures into their classroom, together with the ability to work collaboratively with the school’s dedicated Design Lab teachers to ensure each student is receiving learning which aligns to the Global Competencies.
Other Information:
Employment at MC is subject to, and inclusive of, the following conditions:
1. A successful ‘Working with Children Check’ prior to commencing employment.
2. A three-month probationary period.
3. Adherence to the Staff Code of Conduct.
4. Relevant qualifications and current teaching registration.
5. Other conditions as determined by the terms of the Teacher Enterprise Agreement and applicable College policies.

The College transferred to Kemp Street, Hamilton in 1933 providing primary and secondary schooling through to the Leaving Certificate. In June 1994, the College program was relocated to the new site providing educational services from the Pre-School years (Ages 3-5) through to the Year 12 Higher School Certificate.
The College is located on a 8 hectare site on Lake Road, Wallsend (near Newcastle) and provides quality Christian education for approximately 60 Preschool, 360 Junior School and 410 Senior School students.
