About this Role
As the Coordinator Rates, you will coordinate the Rates Team to achieve delivery of revenue and rating services in accordance with legislation and Council policies including administering and overseeing Councils property, rating and debt collection processes.
You will provide leadership to the rates team with a focus on fostering a supportive environment. Your role will include Identifying operational efficiencies whether through people or process to streamline service delivery and support continuous improvement, ensuring a high level of customer service delivery to Latrobe City Councils stakeholders.
About You
We are seeking a motivated individual with strong leadership and customer service skills to provide the day-to-day coordination of staff and functions within the Rates team. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, a keen attention to detail, an understanding of basic accounting principles and an ability to problem solve complex issues.
You will need
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting or business administration, or other relevant field with several years' experience, or lesser formal qualification with extensive relevant experience, preferably with several years of rates, property or administration experience at a senior level
* Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant) or CA ANZ (Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand) or working towards, is desirable
* Experience in local government at a leadership level is desirable
* Experience with Council rates administration and property title information is desirable
* Demonstrated experience with the use of office software, financial systems and database applications
Successful applicants will be required to apply for and satisfactorily obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children's Check.
