Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton have an exciting opportunity for a TheatreTeam Leader to join our department with flexible hours on offer!
This position is based within Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton's Perioperative Services, which include five operating theatres, seven recovery bays, and a Central Sterilising Unit.
The Theatre Complex supports both pre- and post-operative recovery and facilitates specialised endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures. Our diverse surgical case mix includes orthopaedics, obstetrics, gynaecology, ENT, oral surgery, urology, paediatrics, general surgery, vascular, spinal, and ophthalmic procedures.
Responsibilities
* Ensuring appropriate staff allocations and skill mix to reflect the changing workload and to meet patient needs.
* Coordinate all clinical activity to maximize efficiency and ensure staff meal breaks and reliefs are arranged in a timely manner.
* To act as a clinical expert within the area of work demonstrating specialist knowledge, skills, and expertise.
* To liaise and co-operate with the wards, other departments, and personnel in the hospital.
* Work collaboratively with other team leaders in the theatre department in the daily running and organisation of theatre activity and provide support in all clinical areas as necessary.
* To maintain and raise the clinical standard of care through the process of audit, and as a result implement changes in best practice.
* Identify and communicate quality improvement ideas to senior staff to enhance patient care.
About you
* Registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner's Regulation Agency) with no restrictions
* Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in a clinical area or specialty applicable to the unit.
* Previous experience in Perioperative Nursing.
* Demonstrated advanced ability to communicate complex and challenging information constructively.
