HSEQ Manager Job Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to join our team and lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the project's Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) strategy.
* This is a key leadership role that requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
* The successful candidate will be accountable for promoting a proactive safety culture, leading visible safety leadership across all levels of the project, and overseeing hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety Management
* Promote a proactive safety culture and lead visible safety leadership across all levels of the project.
* Oversee hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident investigations, ensuring learnings are captured and shared.
* Support site-based safety teams with complex risk management and escalation processes.
Environmental Management
* Ensure project activities meet environmental obligations under legislation, client contracts, and environmental management plans.
* Coordinate environmental audits, inspections, and reporting.
* Liaise with environmental consultants, regulators, and client representatives regarding compliance and approvals.
Quality Management
* Oversee implementation of the Quality Management Plan and ensure alignment with ISO 9001 standards.
* Coordinate internal audits and third-party audits, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement.
* Ensure all construction and operational activities are undertaken in accordance with approved ITPs, procedures, and specifications.
Systems & Reporting
* Manage the HSEQ reporting system, ensuring accurate data capture, trend analysis, and compliance with reporting obligations.
* Prepare HSEQ reports for the Project Director, Client, and JV Board.
* Maintain and improve the integrated management system and project-specific HSEQ documentation.
Leadership & Culture
* Lead, coach, and mentor the HSEQ team, including Safety Advisors, Environmental Officers, and Quality Coordinators.
* Foster a strong culture of accountability, consultation, and empowerment across the workforce.
* Champion health and wellbeing initiatives across the project workforce.
