The Team
The Preanalytics Team operates within Pathology Services at the Royal Hobart Hospital, Tasmania's largest public pathology provider. This team is essential to the smooth operation of pathology services, ensuring that every sample is handled with precision and care from the moment it arrives.
The Role
The Preanalytics Team are the 'gate keepers' for samples received into Pathology. They are responsible for determining if samples and request forms are appropriate for analysis and for performing a referral role dispatching samples nationally and internationally.
You will need
* Previous experience in specimen reception and data entry functions within a diagnostic laboratory environment.
* Ability to work as the sole technician on an out of hours roster.
* Ability to apply standard operating procedures in the work environment.
* Ability to maintain focus and accuracy in a fast‐paced role.

Details of appointment
Permanent full‐time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary
$73,811 to $79,779 per annum. Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility
* An associate diploma from a recognised tertiary institution, or an equivalent qualification, appropriate to the nature of the work, or relevant training and/or experience determined in accordance with the provisions of Section 37 of the State Service Act 2000.
* Knowledge and expertise consistent with qualifications recognised at Certificate III and IV or equivalent level.
