Overview
Policy Analyst (ECEC) - WFH (Australia-wide) – Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) is seeking a talented Policy Analyst with a background in early childhood education and care (ECEC) to contribute evidence-based policy advice on complex educational issues. This is a full-time temporary contract until 30 June 2026, with flexible location and work-from-home options Australia-wide.
Salary: competitive base salary starting at $97,920 (commensurate with skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct policy research and analysis on early childhood education and care issues.
- Develop high-quality policy advice on education issues including ECEC, schools, child and student outcomes, and evidence use in practice.
- Prepare discussion papers, submissions, and briefs to inform decision making.
- Monitor emerging policy issues and contribute to timely updates and reviews for AERO’s initiatives and projects.
- Collaborate with the Strategic Engagement & Implementation team to deliver external projects and establish effective processes.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Essential requirements: Experience and understanding of government policy processes and ability to work within these frameworks; experience in stakeholder engagement and collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Knowledge and experience in public policy, public administration, or education policy; tertiary qualifications in related fields or relevant experience.
- Strong research and analytical skills; excellent written and verbal communication; high level of organisational skills and attention to detail.
